Wang Yuye is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering at Tianjin University.

Wang devotes herelf to research on terahertz spectral imaging detection technology and biomedical applications, as well as all-solid-state lasers and nonlinear optical frequency conversion. In these fields, she has published 67 SCI papers and 4 monographs in English and Chinese, has been authorized with 16 national invention patents, and was invited for presentations on 21 domestic and international academic conferences. For her fruitful achievements, Wang won many awards, such as First Prize of Chongqing Municipal Scientific and Technological Progress and Tianjin Young Excellent Talents in Science and Technology.
Taking fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of students as the fundamental task, Wang proactively works to push the reform of the teaching model of undergraduate and graduate education. In the process of teaching, she insists on student-centered and project-based as well as integration of science and education teaching reforms, in an attempt to cultivate students' abilities in innovation, practical engineering, and application of knowledge in a comprehensive way. She undertook 5 educational reform projects, among which the project Optoelectronics Technology was awarded Tianjin First-Class Undergraduate Program and was well received by students. In addition, she was awarded Second Prize for Teaching Achievements of Tianjin, First Prize for Teaching Achievements of Tianjin University, Top Ten Excellent Young Teaching Staff of Tianjin University, Excellent Instructor of Graduation Design of Tianjin University, and Outstanding Class Teacher of Tianjin University. Under her guidance, many of her graduate students won awards, including one Excellent Master's Thesis of Tianjin, three Excellent Master's Thesis of Tianjin University, and one Excellent Doctoral Thesis of Tianjin University.
Apart from being a dedicated researcher and teacher, Wang Yuye also serves as a visiting scientist of Japan’s Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN). She has established cooperation relationships with renowned international institutes, universities and enterprises, such as Russian Academy of Sciences, Tohoku University, and Edelweiss Testing Co., Ltd. in the terahertz technology, to promote the in-depth integration of industry, academia, and research, and to expand the innovative applications. At the same time, she works as the Deputy Secretary General of Tianjin Laser Technology Society, Deputy Secretary General of Tianjin Intelligent Science and Technology Research Society, a member of Terahertz Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society, member of the Young Scientist Club of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, council member of Tianjin Optical Society, and guest editor and editorial board member of several journals, including Sensors.
